1948 Excelsior. This is a Schwinn-built DX with the Excelsior badge. Schwinn used hundreds of names on its bikes throughout the years. Schwinn-brand bikes were sold at franchised Schwinn dealers. Other Schwinn-built bikes were sold at hardware stores, department stores, independent bike dealerships, tires stores and other places.
